Daily Painting #5 – Sweet Serenity

I couldn’t go all week and not make at least ONE portrait. Unfortunately, I ran out of time on the hair and didn’t get to do a few things I wanted to try. Still, I like the looseness to this, too. I give you ‘Sweet Serenity.’

This week’s theme: Combine two words that begin with the same letter to create an idea for the speed painting. (It’s turning out to be a goldmine for creative ideas!)

Why am I doing this, you ask?

#1 – #99. To loosen up my left brain, which always always always tries to take over whenever I’m painting. Sometimes this is great, like the stages when I should be refining a painting. However, it likes to get in there and get detail-oriented waaaaaaaaayyyyy too early, which is never a good thing when it comes to overall composition.

So, these are going to be messy. Rough. And hopefully more right brained.

I’ll be going through various “themes” as I do this.

This week: Take two words that start with the same letter and combine them in some way.
